ForWood Consulting brings 30 years of experience in the timber industry and FSC certification to bear on solving FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody supply chain certification challenges. We also provide assistance with UK Timber Regulation and EU Timber Regulation compliance.
Freelance Auditors
We act as freelance auditors for a number of FSC/PEFC accredited certification bodies (CBs) and have completed close to a 1000 audits since 1998, on five continents. From multi-site audits of global giants in the pulp and paper industries to a one-man-band with a rural workshop, we have truly seen it all.
Highly Experienced
Our experience extends way beyond simple conformance and compliance auditing.
We have hands-on experience gained managing a small sawmill and joinery workshop in the late 90’s and importing the first FSC certified timber into the UK, and then running a flooring company. This led to consulting work with B&Q and its worldwide supply chains promoting and developing FSC certified supply chains hand in hand with WWF and a range of other environmental NGO’s, this included Rainforest Alliance which led to work as a consultant auditor and a role as its European Regional Manager.
We developed a business partnership Cassa Group, an Indian company making a wide range of teak furniture from 100% reclaimed teak, under the Arbor Vetum brand, providing the UK marketing, sales and distribution functions. We also pioneered the development of a range of new added value products using very small dimension offcuts, maximising the yield from this valuable resource.
Our philosophy is to always provide simple cost effective solutions to timber product supply chain challenges and to deliver top quality audit services to accredited certification bodies and their client.
